Match Comments (Include match incidents,

Corofin/Ruan got their U13 championship up and running with a well deserved win over Smith O Briens in Killaloe.

If ever there was a game of two halves this was it.

We started the game very slowly and appeared to have suffered the effects of sitting in a car for an hour. We just couldn't get a foothold in ghe

in the game and were second to to most balls. Consequently after the first half we trailed on a scoreline of 2-4 to 0-2 with Smith O Briens fully deserving of their lead.

At half time the boys themselves knew they hadnt represented themselves as they should and the second half saw us quickly establish a foothold in the game.

Joe Meaney, Aodan Lawton, Podge Murphy and the Darraghs - Moran, Casey and Masterson started driving us on and each player from the bench made a huge impact. None more so than Dean Crowe and Mark O Callaghan who in the 3rd quarter scored 2-1 and 2-0 respectively to see us creep ahead.

It was one way traffic for the rest of the second half as Smith O Briens ran out of steam and Corofin/Ruan ran out winners in the end on a score line of 7-6 to 3-4.

Well done to all the lads and in particular the 7 boys who came off the bench to save the day for us! Competition for places is keen.

Scorers: Dean Crowe 2-1; Evan O Donoghue 1-2, Darragh Masterson 0-2, Darragh Moran 1-0; Mark O Callaghan 2-0; Dara Casey 1-1;

Next game: Feakle/Killanea in Ruan 16 July.
